About meMy name is Hólmfríður Gestsdóttir. I am the owner of this website, The Icelandic Corner and have run it since 2012. Nice to have you here!
I have a Bachelors degree in the Icelandic language and literature from the University of Iceland. I have been teaching Icelandic from the year 2008 and still am. In my spare time I like cooking and eating great food. (Yes, I'm a total foodie!) I'm also interested in healthy lifestyle and practice yoga regularly. I have an insatiable interest in languages and dream about travelling to France, planting myself in a beautiful town and review my French, get some Vitamin D, and eat good food (of course)! I'm married and have two daughters. The picture to the right shows my family and me in the summer of 2020. We're at Rauðasandur sand beach in the West fjords of Iceland, one of so many amazing, majestic places that Icelandic nature has to offer. Loved being there! |
